A a young princess, Queen
visited Swanage and in honour of that visit, the largest hotel (at the time) was re-named The Victoria.
Sadly today it's home to some tatty apartments, a bar and a nightclub.
Across the road from building, the area has been re-vamped a little and a new garden created, in memory of Prince Albert.
Like many seaside towns, Swanage has a pier - actually, it has two. Diving and fishing are popular activities, but why not just wander down and take in the sea air?
The photo of Swanage's piers, looking towards Old Harry Rocks and Bournemouth in the distance, was taken from the Prince Albert Gardens.
