Living in Dorset and growing up within the Isle of Purbeck instilled in me a love of the countryside and walking.
Not far from Swanage, along the coast, is Kimmeridge - just a few houses, nestling in a valley. The view from atop the hills is stunning - the first photo is taken from the ridge way and in the distance you might just spot Weymouth and Portland Bill.
The photo was taken on a walk with my parents. We had parked at Swyre Head and walked a circular route. They'd told me of a gate they'd spotted in the past - this was a regular route for them - Heavens Gate. My parents are known to pull my leg, and I was convinced that's what they were doing this time. How wrong could I have been?
