I'm blessed with living within walking distance of a fabulous arts centre. This wonderful facility rose from the ashes of loss - the loss to the town of its ancient cattle market.
A team of hardworking and dedicated folk raised the money the create a theatre, community rooms, bar and cafe. My little contribution to their effort is to work there as a volunteer a few hours a week and to write reviews of any shows I might like to see.
Here's a recent one - Richard Digance. I resisted the temptation to label him the Pam Ayres, but without the hair but with a guitar. But I do think that summed him up. A very, very talented man - and apparently he lives fairly close by so we may be fortunate to see him again.
